Dolomites Italy Wedding. This South Tyrol wedding in the mountains was so epic, it is hard to come up with words. Voels am Schlern is where Eva & Hannes’ bohemian summer wedding happened. They got married in a very small village chapel, which came with lots of family history in the place where Hannes was born and raised. The couple set up a tent for the reception in the middle of nature, surrounded by majestic mountains and right next to a lake. A hot summer night, fireworks and midnight dancing. Oh heartfelt summer weddings, you are wonderful.

‘Strictly love’ by Mallorca couple photographer Chris Spira – this couple is channeling rock star vibes and joyful honeymoods.
Inspired by vintage photography taken in the 50s & 60’s i photographed this portrait session at Palma de Mallorca city beach during moody weather. It was the couples’ second honeymoon last November on the spanish island. See also this photo series we created at the same honeymoon. And if you still can’t get enough of these two – like myself – check out their destination wedding in Marrakech. There are one of those couples that i could shoot everyday. Not sure what it is exactly that i love about them that, it is most likely that natural heartfelt energy and Gabriella’s effortless beauty.
‘I just looked through the photos again and I have to say, I really love the way you edit your pictures. If I didn’t know it was me and Danny, I would think I was looking at a couple from 50 years ago, the photos look so timeless. You really have a talent for this Chris, I feel so lucky that we met you!’ Gab
Photographing this romantic Chateau de Massillan wedding in Provence was pretty rad. Becky & Tristan flew in from London, Uk with their family and friends to celebrate their wedding in the heart of Provence. The couple made this luxury hotel, which dates back to the 16th century, home for the weekend. Their laid back wedding reception was held under the summer sky in the intimate castle courtyard. The couple exchanged their vows in the nearby church of Uchaux. It was a perfect summer day celebration with happy vibes and lots of laughter. British folks certainly know how to exchange some decent banter that made me laugh pretty hard.

Spiegelsaal Berlin Wedding. If you ask my why i love photographing weddings so much, this wedding is certainly one of the first one’s that comes to my mind. These two kind souls were so joyful throughout the whole day, it was just so beautiful to photograph. Also i love how many things are a bit unconventional and ‘laissez-faire’, perfectly reflecting these two creative architects that met in New York City. Now living and working in Berlin they wanted a wedding that reflected them well. And it surly was.
Forever grateful to have captured this german american wedding celebration in St. Elisabeth in Mitte and the reception in Spiegelsaal. Two unique locations that are equally stunning as much as they reflect the history and architecture of Berlin. If you wish to see more images from Spiegelsaal, check out these.
Hong Kong bride Effie is the epitome of an effortless and natural beauty. I took these portraits the morning after her wedding and i totally love the imperfect look that she is owning. It does not care if the dress is crinkle-free, if you do wear full on make-up or aim for the perfect pose. What cares is that you are confident with any approach. Effie looked great on her wedding day and also the day after. Because she radiates beauty & elegance anyway. To me that is deeply inspiring to photograph.
Perfection is a concept that we create. I much more adore the japanese philosophy of Wabi Sabi. Wabi Sabi celebrates the imperfect cracks in a structure. Where everything is constantly changing. Where beauty tells a story. It is just so beautiful. The dress tells the beautiful story of the wedding celebration. Her face is relaxed and happy. Sunrise in the Marrakech desert. The warm sun is gently touching an ocean of sand. Nuances of colors appear and change by the minute. The day greets with silence. Just a light breeze is felt, whispering winds to the ears of the attentive. The sounds of birds flying by.
The endless blue horizon beautifully complements the earthy warm desert tones. Like a warm soft hug the desert is kind this early in the morning. Moments of ease and contemplation. Deep breaths come natural remembering a state of joy. Memories rise of what has happened the day before.
Gabriella & Danny chose Mallorca as their second honeymoon destination. Gabriella brought her wedding gown all the way from New York. She put it on for a second time after wearing it for her wedding in the vast desert of Marrakech. Their intimate celebration was one of the most powerful weddings i have photographed so far. Between the sands and the sky, Gab & Danny were facing the stormy winds while exchanging their vows. It was a soulful celebration, connected with the elements which reflected these two adventurers well.
The deserted sands of ‘Es Trenc Beach’ seemed a good reminiscence and perfect location to continue their visual story. How romantic that the beautiful shells and beads on her dress now got sprinkled with the sands of the morocco desert and the majorcan beach.
I love their enthusiasm to explore the island with me, despite the November weather being quite the challenge with some strong winds just hitting the shore. And again – it was just beautiful photographing the energy of these two while they were embracing the winds of the ocean and effortlessly radiating their love. What a beautiful way of jumping right into adventure.
