Free-spirited

When i received the first email from Shannon & Joss and how they envisioned their destination wedding to be, i was beyond excited. The couple lives in Brisbane, Australia and both of them have a close connection to the ocean. They seemed pretty free spirited and wanted to celebrate a weekend in Greece with their close family and friends. There are a few people, that you feel the connection right away and Shannon & Joss were one of these people. Their destination wedding weekend was indeed epic for many reasons. Both created a wedding weekend that felt authentic and a beautiful reflection of who they are.

The sunrise after their wedding we went for a event more intimate celebration up on the hills of Oia, where there shared beautiful and intimate moments, surrounded by nature, ocean views, the winds and the beautiful silence that you find in more secluded parts of the island. After the shoot everyone went rock jumping followed by lunch in Amoudi Bay. Possibly the highlight of the wedding weekend was the sunset sailing cruise.

KIND WORDS

‘We wanted a natural, effortless shoot that combined nature and would  tell our story of ‘the pirate and the gypsy mermaid’.  The angles, use of light, use of our natural surroundings, Chris absolutely nailed it. Her photos are magical and are seen to capture the sense of euphoria (that I can now confirm) that two people, in love, experience on their wedding days.‘  Shannon + Joss

Perissa | Santorini

This beach editorial was created in collaboration with surfer girl Birte Heitmann, who is also the model and stylist for this shooting. Taken at the beach of Perissa in Santorini ‘waiting for Mr. Right’ is a story of longing and waiting. An early morning beach style project sparked by white wine, greek food and serendipity. It was so much fun creating this and i would be open to see your brand featured in the next shoot. Thank you Christina for assisting, creative input, fun entertainment and friendship.

‘Patience is hard. Embraces gone lost, missed. Circumstances change easily. Still waiting for my Mr. Right.’

Nyree | Santorini

I am inspired by natural & effortless beauty. Reflecting personality in my images, finding beauty in realness and reaching a deeper understanding for a person in front of me, is something i am looking for. Especially with my camera. When i photograph someone, i feel i get a glimpse into their soul and see them in a more facetted way. I love putting focus on the lighthearted, sunny side of someone’s personality, believing what you put your focus on will multiply and resonate with you. I also focus on working with what is present, without influencing or directing much. Every portrait is different and feeling the energy and vibes is important.

Nyree’s energy brimmed with happiness during our portrait session. We created these images at sunset outside of Oia, the day before her wedding to Dean at Andronis Suites. I totally admire her relaxed anticipation and confident excitement that shines through. Also love her impromptu bouquet we used for this session. A few branches of bougainvillea that she picked along the way. Their wedding was beautiful, emotional and filled with happy tears, joyful laughter and some windy veil moments. Find the story of their wedding on my wedding page portfolio. You can also see the couple portaits together with Dean in my portrait portfolio.

Yun & Patrick | Tirol | Austria

This Tirol wedding was sweet, heartfelt, adventurous and also came with a pretty scenic view. Yun is from China and went to study in Munich where she met Patrick. Both share a passion for nature, paragliding, traveling and the mountains. Lisa Alm seemed the perfect location with jawdropping views over the mountains, while these two lovebirds exchange their free-spirited vows in front of family & friends.

Yun & Patrick, i feel extremly grateful to have captured your wedding in the mountains. It felt heartfelt & beautiful to take part in your celebration, with plenty of fun moments happening. Your are very sweet & kind.

Family Portrait | Mallorca

A family portrait in Mallorca was on my wishlist for a while. I love the island with it’s variety to photograph in. You will very quite and peaceful areas with full privacy and beautiful nature around and Castell Son Claret is one of those places. This is where i met with Mia & Sebi for the portrait session. I already photographed the wedding so i was beyond excited to also photograph their family photos together with bebe. Mia & Sebi live in Zürich and planned a mini vacation on Mallorca where we met. We spent a lovely morning exploring the hotel grounds and drove to the beach afterwards. It was so much fun seeing them again and catching up while taking photos.

Shannon | Greek Islands

This portrait of Shannon is part of this full wedding weekend story photographed in Santorini, Greece. Shannon wore a two piece wedding dress custom made by Baboushka Ballerina. Fabio Zardi is the flower designer of her bouquet and flower crown.

The whole weekend could not have been more exciting, adventurous and fun. Shannon & Joss created a weekend that left everyone happy. If you travel to Santorini for your wedding or honeymoon make sure you book a sunset sailing trip. It is one of the magical highlights to do on the island. You will swim into hot springs and jump into pools. So check out the full story 🙂

Susanne & Martin | Südtirol | Italy

It is no secret, I love being close to the ocean. But i also love being in beautiful nature, with forests, meadows and mountains. I am a hiker girl, whenever i can. Besides its meditative feel, i love exploring lush summer ‘Almen’.  Sampling hearty food at one of the many scenic little  ‘Hütten’ along the way, is just one reason why this region is so charming. South Tyrol has a unique mix of italian, german and austrian influences, beautiful people and gorgeous nature. The area around Bolzano is packed with vineyards and beautiful locations where enjoying life is made easy.

Ansitz Zinnenberg in Eppan was found by the couple, when scouting for a venue. They were also one of the first, to have their wedding there. You can easily see, why the secluded location surrounded by vinyards was the venue of their dreams. Susanne & Martin live in Geneva, Switzerland. Both decided to get married in the region where Martin is from.

Since the wedding ceremony was in the late morning, the afternoon felt like a long summer day with music, barefoot dancing and a relaxed time. Apéro time at your wedding is just the best. Susanne and Martin you completly rocked your day and felt so happy taking part in keeping the memories alive.

Cap Rocat | Mallorca

Wedding moods and ambience photographed in Cap Rocat – one of the most iconic luxury wedding venues in Mallorca. Cap Rocat is set in an old fort located in the most secluded area of Palma de Mallorca’s bay. It offers a mediterranean warmth and exclusive feel for its guests. If you are seeking an intimate wedding with a distinct warm terracotta tones feel in the photography, this is your place. Oh and did i mention majestic view into Palma bay from the private beach of the hotel. Floral styling in the images are done by Nadja Rothkirch.

Jamie & Justin | Shanghai Wedding

Jamie & Justin live in Hong Kong & Melbourne and got married in the city Jamie is from, which is Shanghai. Maybe you know i have lived in Shanghai for a couple of years and still got lovely clients referring me in Shanghai and beyond. So this is also how Jamie & Justin found me. They both are very kind and incredibly sweet hearted people and it was such a pleasure and honor photographing their wedding in Jamie’s home town. They married in St. Ignatius Cathedral in Xujiahui District and then we drove around town to finally arrive in Park Hyatt Shanghai ‘s 95th floor with majestic views over the city. A venue that never ceases to amaze with incredible sights. I love the vibes during the car drive, both were relaxed. While resting on the back seat of this classic car i took some photos of them. This cinematic scene with interesting lights reflecting from the city outside really made the ambience unique.

Thank you Jamie & Justin. It was a delight photographing your wonderful wedding day. Thank you also for inviting me to your home in Hong Kong a year later, when i was traveling in Asia over Christmas. Your kindness is precious.

Gabriella & Danny | LaPause Marrakech Wedding

Gabriella and Danny’s destination wedding at LaPause, Marrakech desert has been an incredible soulful journey. Relaxed, down to earth, bohemian. As world travellers they chose a place in the middle of the moroccan desert for their free-spirited wedding ceremony.

La Pause, an oasis in the middle of the desert, with no electricity, no wifi, no distraction. Just a very earthy and serene place with a nomad feel to celebrate their love. The couple was taking everyone coming over from the US onto a magic ride. And what a ride it was. Including a storm that added its own energy to their powerful event. I could not have been happier photographing in the middle.

KIND WORDS

Chris was our photographer and one of the biggest highlights for us. We absolutely loved the style of her photos; she has such a unique aesthetic and when we looked at her other destination weddings, she paid attention to the small details that really capture the feel and culture of the location. When we reached out, she was really excited about Morocco and we booked immediately – she was actually the first thing we booked for the wedding, before we had even chosen a venue! When we finally met her almost a year later, we were so happy about our decision. She’s extremely professional and relaxed. She seamlessly became a part of our group, all the while capturing the most incredible images. We will forever be grateful that she spent those three days with us.
