What a Kerala wedding ceremony. I am speechless. Mumbai is an incredible city and photographing a wedding here was on my wish list for quite a long time. I photographed a couple of weddings in Kerala before and loved every minute of the indian experience. So i was beyond excited when Aishwarya got in touch and asked me to photograph her Kerala wedding ceremony in Mumbai. What an honor. 6 months later, i was sitting on a plane to India.

The lavish 3 day wedding at the Leela & the Taj Mahal Palace left everyone in awe, including myself. The collection of images show the couples’ intimate ‘Kerala wedding ceremony’ in the Leela hotel estate. Lit by candles, light installations and butter lamps the whole ceremony had a beautiful mood and ambience. Every detail was perfect. I mean, look at this golden wedding sari! The details on her dress were just incredibly beautiful. Although these low light situations at Keralan ceremonies are a little challenge, i love photographing them. I think an evening ceremony brings a whole new mood to a wedding ceremony. It is simply magical!

The Team from Motwane did an incredible job in making this wedding a dream come true.

Nandita & Brian | Kerala Wedding | Cochin India

We met in San Francisco through a common friend and after a few months Brice joined me in NY. We got engaged 5 years later, on holiday in the Florida Keys. We got married a year later.

We chose Kerala, India, Nandita’s birthplace. Our wedding took place at sunset under the coconut trees, at ‘Chittoor Kottaram’ – a heritage property. We were very lucky as it was the first time a wedding had been held there. Nandita wanted my family to experience a Kerala wedding in its purest form. We used jasmine flowers, banana leaves and hanging oil lamps that are native to Kerala and our ceremony was performed by Nandita’s uncle as per a centuries old tradition. The bridal party consisted of Nandita’s cousins and aunts – all dressed in shades of pink. The bridal saree was in ivory and gold with a flash of pink. Ivory and Gold are the traditional colors of Kerala sarees, and we added a pink band at the end to add a touch of color.

The ceremony was quite special for us, and Nandita’s grandfather made an incredibly touching speech.

About working with Chris in one sentence.

Chris was amazing. We completely appreciated her dedication to capturing the joy and beauty of our wedding.

Aiwee & Warren | Le Meridien Koh Samui Wedding

What is your personal opinion and memory you still have of your day?

‘Our vows, I remind myself of our vows everyday. One time after a tiring day, we were in the shower when he repeated his entire speech to me including parts that he intended to say but didn’t, and that made me cry really hard.

Why did you chose Koh Samui?

‘We wanted all our guests to get together for a big holiday and hang out as a big family in somewhere relaxing and calmer, somewhere most people haven’t been to. Ko Samui was a strong choice – relatively easier to travel to and less hustle bustle compared to the more popular Phuket.

The bride wanted lawn overlooking the sea, but it was very difficult to find a location in Samui that can house the number of guests (100) we had, and eventually we chose Le Meridien because of the size, and we also fell in love with The Pier floating in the sea for the ceremony and lawn for the dinner.

He’s Australian, she’s Malaysian, we met in Hong Kong. We met at work, somewhat “love” at first sight (I think, haha. And I don’t believe in love at first sight, we were definitely attracted to each other) but both were too proud to admit it. Depending on who told the story, he’d say I asked him out first but … the truth is…we walked to work a lot together and it blossomed from there. He proposed in Napa Valley after 3 years.

A sentence about working with Chris.

Chris is natural and easy to work with. She’s quiet and sensitive to the environment, which makes her photos very unique. ‘ Aiwee & Warren

Diana & Nathanael | Château Barthélemy wedding in Paris

I loved photographing Diana & Nathanael’s wedding. It was a pure delight. A wedding day packed with beautiful people, emotional moments all happening in a charming chateau. Forever grateful to have captured these frames.

KIND WORDS

‘Finding a photographer for our wedding was a daunting task for me. My now-husband hates being photographed, my mother-in-law never smiles on photos, and I get pretty uncomfortable being the center of attention. I needed someone who would be able to capture the moments without making us pose too much and whose style I would be happy to look at for the rest of my life (because that’s what you do with wedding photos!).

Chris was the one. She came highly recommended from a friend, so that immediately instilled confidence. Beyond that, her unique style is classic and addicting — she is an artist as well as a storyteller, and I cannot stop looking at our photos. At our wedding, she blended in with the guests and wedding party, and captured all the important moments we definitely wanted (ceremony, first dance, speeches) and then all the magical moments we will treasure for years to come (loving gazes, playful whispers, dances between divorced parents, stolen kisses…).

I am so thankful to have had Chris as our wedding photographer. She was a joy and a gift to work with from the planning stages to the wedding itself and the delivery of the photos. If she’s available on your chosen date and you’re even questioning it, stop! Hire her; you won’t regret it!’
